Once a year, you should take your pet in for a check-up. This will include a full physical exam, and may include teeth and gum cleaning if needed. Dr. Butterfield will check the health of your pet from head to tail, you will leave happy knowing that you entrusted us with the care of your pet and your pet will leave happy and less stressed than if you would have gone to a more traditional clinic.
Bring in any medical history you have for your pet when you come for your visit. It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts. If you have something like this, share it with our team. If not, let us know everything that you think will be important. Dr.Butterfield is happy to address any concerns you may have.
Dr. Butterfield covers his own emergencies. There will be occasions when he is not available, but he prides himself on providing complete care for your pet. It's best to call at the first sign of an emergency, so that preparations can be made. We would rather you call and find out it can wait than find out you should have called sooner. If you are a breeder please notify us in advance of your expected litter. It's best to have plan B outlined incase plan A takes a turn.
In some circumstances, Dr. Butterfield will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.
